Abstract
Traditional medicines are ingredients or ingredients in the form of plant materials, animal materials, mineral materials, galenic preparation or mixture of these, traditionally use for experimental treatment. One of the plantsusedfor traditional medicine using myana or iler leaf that contains flavonoids, saponins, alkaloids, and tannins as antibacterials. This study was conducted to determine the antibacteia activity of myana leaf inhibiting the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria and to determine the minimum inhibitory concentration of myana leaf. Staphylococcus aureus are bacteria that cause ulcer disease. The extraction was conducted by maceration method using 96% ethyl acetate as semipolar solvent. This research was experimental using disc diffusion method, wiht 3 treatment of ethyl acetate leaf of myana concentration 15%, concentration 25%, and concentration 35%. In this study the results obtained are 14,00 mm, 18,00 mm and 43,00 mm respectively. This shows that myana leaf ethyl acetate extract has antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The ethyl asetate extract of myana leaf also has a minimum inhibitory concentration of 15% concentration.
