Abstract

Schizophrenia is a disease that affects the brain and causes thoughts, perceptions, emotions, movements, strange and disturbed behavior. One of the treatment of schizophrenia is to use antipsychotic drugs. This study aims to determine the use of typical and atypical antipsychotics in schizophrenic patients and to know the costs required for the treatment of non-BPJS schizophrenic patients. The method used is a retrospective descriptive method by reading medical records of non-BPJS schizophrenic patients who underwent outpatient at RSUD dr.Iskak in Tulungagung. Medical record data were taken based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, where inclusion criteria were the primary diagnosis of schizophrenic patients and patients receiving antipsychotic therapy, while exclusion criteria were absent. Treatment using a combination of antipsychotics was 13 prescriptions (50%), whereas typical antipsychotic use were 11 recipes (42.31%) and atypical antipsychotic use of 2 prescriptions (7.69%). The average cost of antipsychotics required in a single visit by schizophrenic patients is Rp. 32.037,32. Keywords : Schizophrenia, Antipsychotic, Cost Analysis.
