Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease recognized by the Indonesian government as a public health problem, with consequences not only on undesirable effects, but also an economic burden on health care systems. The purpose of this study is to be a consideration and description of oral antidiabetic costs in patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 non BPJS outpatient in hospital Era Medika Tulungagung. This study was conducted with descriptive design with prospective data retrieval on recipe sheets and cost details received by patients between January and April 2018. Calculated costs are oral antidiabetic charges. From 68 patients analyzed, 69.1% were female and 30.9% male. The demographic data shows that patients with the highest diagnosis of type 2 DM were > 65 years old at 41.18%. The Single oral antidiabetics that are frequently received in patient type 2 DM are outpatient glimepiride of 48.27% and combination oral antidiabetic therapy is often used the combination metformin + glimepiride combination of 25.64%. The greatest cost is the cost of antidiabetic combination of akarbose + glimepiride + glibenclamide + metformin + metformin XR of 827,928 rupiahs ± 274,499 per month and for the lowest cost is metformin (generic) of 9,540 ± 3,725 per month.
