Abstract
Antibiotics area category of potent drugs that can only be obtained by prescription and obtained at the pharmacy. If the use of antibiotics does not pay attention to the dosage, consumption and caution, it can cause disadvantageous antibiotic resistance. This research goals are to determine the knowledge and attitude of medical student and non medical student about the use of antibiotics without a prescription. The method used is the method using questionnaire of medical and non medical students in Tulungagung regency. Samples taken were 500 respondents using random sampling. The result showed that based on the knowledge category data, high-knowledge medical students were 49.2%, while high knowledge non medical students were 48%. In attitude category data, good respondents were more on medical students (48.4%) than non medical (35.2%) In the cross-tabulation of all respondents, the majority of respondents have high knowledge and good attitude, that is as many as 82%. It can be concluded that medical student have more broad insight and the correct use of antibiotics without a prescription when compared with non-medical students.
