Abstract

Geriatric patients are someone generated about 60 years or more have occurred in various chronic diseases, decreased organ function, and decreased functional status (disability). STOPP / START criteria is a measuring tool used to identify the accuracy of prescribing drugs in the elderly. Stroke diseases, especially hemorrhagic stroke, also appear to cause potentially improper treatment (PIP) because the treatment generally in patients with hemorrhagic stroke is long-term by using several drugs. This study aims to examine the effect of drug quantity, drug type and duration of hospitalization against Potentially Inappropriate Prescribing (PIP) Based on STOPP / START Stroke Hemorrhagic Stroke Patients in Geriatrics at RSUD dr. Iskak Tulungagung District. This research used the retrospective cross-sectional method in July-December 2017 period. Research subjects were 53 elderly patients. During the study, elderly patients aged 60-70 years were 43.4%, age> 80 35.85%, 54.72% were in men and 45.28% in women with the length of stay for 10 days at 79.25% for> 11 days as much as 20.75%. patients who received PIP mostly occurred in the H2 as much as 77.78% and elderly patients received more than 1 drug 62.26% of patients so susceptible to PIP.
