Abstract
Skin of Jengkol (Archidendron pauciflorum (Benth.) Nielsen) contains antibacterial compounds of tannins and flavonoids. This research aims to formulate a liquid soap preparation fraction of the Jengkol skin and test the antibacterial activity of liquid soap fraction of the Jengkol skin with a concentration of 3%, 6% and 9% against the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The formulation of liquid soap fraction of Jengkol skin 3%, 6% and 9% conducted physical stability testing of liquid soap preparation of organoleptic testing, pH, high foam, homogenity, coverage and viscosity. The result of physical stability testing of liquid soap shows all concentrations of liquid soap fractions of jengkol skin meet good concentration according to SNI standard. Testing of antibacterial activity against the growth of Staphylococcus aureus is done by diffusion method. Statistical analysis used is one way ANOVA that serves to know the presence of a variation of the concentration of liquid soap fraction of the skin of the Jengkol bacteria growth Staphylococcus aureus. The results showed that the aquadest liquid soap fraction of the skin jengkol from a concentration of 3%, 6% and 9% had Staphylococcus aureus antibacterial activity due to the aquadest fraction of the jengkol skin containing the polar saponin, tannins and flavonoids that can dissolve in polar fraction (aquadest). The optimum concentration of liquid soap fraction of the Jengkol skin in the growth of the Staphilococcus aureus bacteria is a 3%. Keywords : Archidendron pauciflorum , Aquadest fraction, liquid soap, tes antibacterial activity.
