Abstract
Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera Lam.) have flavonoid metabolite compounds that function as moisturizers with hydroxyl groups that bind water content in the stratum corneum. The combination of Moringa leaf extract and VCO has a synergistic effect as a natural moisturizer. Made into an emulgel preparation because it can increase the effectiveness of the VCO content and Moringa leaf extract as a moisturizer. This study aims to make a moisturizing emulgel preparation with variations of Tween 80 and Span 60 emulsifiers which play an important role in maintaining the stability of the preparation. This is an experimental study with 3 types of combination formulas of VCO and Moringa leaf extract FI(5%), FII(10%) and FIII(15%). Evaluation of the preparation includes organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, viscosity, spreadability, adhesion, protection and moisture. The results of the evaluation were then carried out with statistical analysis tests which showed that the variation of Tween 80 and Span 60 significantly affected the physical stability of the emulgel preparations such as pH, adhesion, spreadability, and viscosity (p<0.05). Formula I with a concentration of 5% produces the optimum formula because it has good moisture and is stable for 28 days of storage.
