Abstract
Hypertension is an increase in blood pressure 120/80 mmHg, which requires long term therapy, therefore in the treatment required good adherence. This type of research is descriptive analytic with cross sectional design, which is prospective. Total samples taken were 81 respondents was accidental sampling. Adherence to hypertension treatment was maesured using Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8) questionnaire with 8 items of question. This study obtained the results of factors of age (p value = 0,635), sex (p value = 0,288), the last education level (p value = 0,000), employment status (p value = 0,001), long suffering from hypertension (p value = 0,015). It can be concluded that the factors of age and sex did not have a significant effect on adherence to hypertension treatment because (p>0,05), while the factors of the last level education, employment status, long suffering from hypertension have a significant effect on adherence to hypertension treatment because (p>0,05).
