Abstract
Diabetes Mellitus has become the fourth largest cause of death in the world. Diabetes Mellitus is a disease characterized by blood glucose levels exceeding normal caused by lack of hormone insulin in relative or absolute. Now the number of sufferers in Indonesia has been 8.4 million and continues to increase. This study aims to determine the quantity of antidiabetic drug use in hospitalization patients in RS Era MedikaTulungagung and the changes during the year 2016-2017. The quantity of antidiabetic use was calculated using the Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical / Defined Daily Dose method.This research uses secondary data that is taken from patient medical record. All data are then processed to determine the quantity of antidiabeticuse in DDD / 100 day care unit. The data has been grouped and then analyzed descriptively.And the results obtained that the highest quantity of antidiabetic use in 2016 is Metformin, reached 9.41 DDD / 100 patient-days. By 2017, DDD calculations for Metformin reach 5.47 DDD / 100 patient-days. The use of metformin decreased from the previous year, due to a decrease in the number of patients in that year so that the use of the drug also decreased.
