Abstract
Self-medication or self-medication is the selection and use of medicines intended for health therapy without a doctor's prescription or advice from health professionals. Self-medication is usually done to deal with complaints and minor ailments that can usually heal on their own without drugs such as colds. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of the act of self-medication for flu in the Kedungwaru community. The design of this study used observational analytic with cross sectional approach. The study was conducted directly by taking samples from a population using a questionnaire as a collection of research data to determine the relationship between the variables studied. This research was conducted on people who did self-medication at a pharmacy in Kedungwaru District with a sample of 385 respondents. Respondents in this study were people domiciled in Kedungwaru Subdistrict and fulfilling the inclusion criteria sampling technique was done by accidental sampling. Based on the results and data analysis of the research conducted, it was found that the level of community knowledge was categorized as good, with a percentage of> 60%, the education level of the Higher Education had the highest percentage of 78.85%. In the swamedication procedure for the flu the good category was obtained with a percentage of> 60%, a high percentage of 40-60 year olds (79.19%), Higher Education level (74.95%), and Civil Servants (79 , 42%). The results of the chi square test showed that there was a relationship between the level of knowledge of the act of self-medication of flu with a value of p = 0,000. The results of the linear regression test show that knowledge contributes 17.64% to the medication self-medication. Keywords: Knowledge Level, Self-medication Action, Cold
