Abstract
Age 6-24 months is the most important period in growth and development because it determines the quality of human resources in the future, so it is better to give complementary foods to breast milk (MP-ASI) because they are more susceptible to suffering from malnutrition. MP-ASI can be in the form of baby porridge, which contains various nutrients such as macronutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, fats) and micronutrients (vitamins, macrominerals, trace minerals). In addition to prioritizing macronutrients, every human being must get micronutrients from food, the types of micronutrients needed include vitamin C, iron, and calcium. There are many studies on the importance of analyzing the nutritional content of baby porridge, but no research has ever been conducted on the analysis of micronutrients in baby porridge which is traded at baby porridge outlets in Tulungagung Regency. This study aims to analyze the content of vitamin C, iron, and calcium contained in baby porridge sold in Tulungagung Regency compared with the parameters of the Permenkes AKG (Nutrition Adequacy Rate) in infants. Methods This experimental study used the iodometric titration method to test the vitamin c content, the permanganometry method to test the iron content and the atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS) to test the calcium. The results showed that the average levels of vitamin C 3.762 mg, iron 5.488 mg, calcium 2.699 mg and the percentage of vitamin C 7.5%, iron 50% and calcium 1% in baby porridge to the RDA value/day Permenkes. The conclusion of the study is that the average levels of vitamin C, iron, and calcium in baby porridge circulating in Tulungagung Regency are below the RDA value per day from the Minister of Health. Keywords: baby porridge, vitamin C, iron, calcium, Nutritional Adequacy Rate (RDA)
